When you walk in the door of 20/20 Surgery Center, you'll notice a unique difference. Our beautifully decorated facility provides an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation, while offering some innovative features.
Eye surgery has never been as safe, comfortable and convenient as it is today. 20/20 Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center devoted exclusively to eye care. Improved methods and equipment have made it possible for patients to receive vision-restoring surgery in a relaxed secure atmosphere. Our out-patient style is designed to maximize patient comfort and convenience while minimizing cost.
On surgery day you will be greeted with a warm smile and a member of our staff will assist you to the pre-operative area. We allow you to wear street clothes throughout the process, but you will be asked to slip on a surgical gown. After a brief interview, you are given a short-acting sedative that makes it possible to painlessly administer local anesthesia around the eye. You may remain awake throughout the procedure.
Surgical time will vary depending upon the procedure being performed. During this time your heart rhythm, blood pressure, and oxygen levels will be carefully monitored.
Following surgery, you are escorted to the recovery area and given a beverage and snack. Now you may relax and enjoy the next 30 minutes with nurses and family. Your post-operative instructions will be carefully explained to you. In most cases just 2-3 hours will have gone by from the time you arrive until you are on your way home.
20/20 Surgery Center is Medicare approved and certified by the State of Pennsylvania. Our center covers over 3,000 square feet and includes a fully equipped operating room, pre-operative and post-operative areas. Medical insurance has become quite complex, so please don't hesitate to ask questions. We currently list multiple insurance companies in our system and will be glad to bill your insurance for you. After your surgery, you will not be able to drive yourself home, so it is important to have a friend or relative to assist you.
